Apart from the Ethical and Philosophical reasons another reason for OSDE.INFO is that Free Libre Open GPL software packages are often MultiPlatform so you only have to learn the interface once !

There is little or no difference between GnomeDesktop, FireFox, ThunderBird or OpenOffice.Org across multiple hardware and software platforms
