bind-utils
On CentOS/RHEL the following commands are provided by the bind-utils package so if you are running on a minimal desktop or server that isnt running bind itself you might need to use yum to install bind-utils !dig
DNS (forward or reverse) lookup$ dig example.com
you can also use dig to find out the nameservers for a domain
$ dig +nssearch example.com
host
DNS (forward or reverse) lookup$ host example.com
nslookup
DNS (forward or reverse) lookup$ nslookup example.com
